It was a cloudy weekend in the mountains this May. Suprisingly spring has already come but its so cloudy! We drove up APS and found a great little spot to park the car. It was an amazing veiw up at the top of the ridge. We could see all of Santa Barbara and more.

The clouds were just rolling over the hills and it was such a beautiful sight. The mountains were all green from all of the rain that we got this winter.

This was the veiw from the top of the ridge right next to the car. You can see all of Santa Barbara and the ocean. I love going up to the mountains especially when its cloudy because it puts everything in perspective. You can see the whole town fro so high up and it just looks so pretty. It was also nice that it was cloudy because sometimes if you go up there and its supper sunny it gets to hot and uncomfortable. When your that high up you can basically stay up there for hours. We were up there for about three hours just watching the beautiful veiw.

On our way down from the mountains we stopped at butterfly beach and ate some food. There were suprisingly more clouds on the mountains than there were at the beach. The tide was pretty low and there weren’t really any waves so it was a really nice day there. It was still freezing outside but once you were in the sun for a little bit, you warmed up pretty fast.

Overall, it was an amazing weekend filled with beautiful sights that made me feel like a tourist in my own town! The beach and the mountains here are so lovely, if you haven’t visited them recently I would highly recommend it! Especially the mountains this time of year because the rivers and creeks are all flowing and the hill sides are all green and lush.
Anyway, thanks for reading, “The couldy mountians,” I hoped you enjoyed my blog this week. Like and comment if you did! Stay tuned for next weeks addition of, “Hawkes Tales!”

It was a crazy, cold, and rainy week in SB! But it definitely was beautiful at Butterfly beach in the moonlight. ~
